Do you believe in Miracles? After a baby was found in Wheeling, WV in a cardboard
box inside of the front door of THE TALLY HO Apartments on the National Road, she was to be transported to the state orphanage in Charleston – when – that same morning a young Wheeling couple named Lucretia and attorney George Bailey stormed Judge McKee’s chambers to adopt the baby to save her from the orphanage. There was no time to waste – they adopted her sight unseen. 

That TALLY HO BABY was Barb! This show is a loving tribute to Lucretia and George and to Barb‘s birth mother who was probably very young and living with her parents who insisted she get rid of her baby. She could have dumped her in the Ohio River, but she chose, instead, to leave her baby where she would be found.

Her stories about Wheeling will warm your heart. Barb landed in Chicago after graduating from college at Michigan State University in East Lansing. She first became a DJ on Rush Street and then moved on to Universal Recording Studio – where she began her career in the Music Business – which prompted her to move to LA.

TALLY HO BABY is a heartwarming and hilarious jaunt through Barb’s life in Wheeling and finally on to Hollywood and her encounters with celebs like Burt Reynolds, Lady Gaga and Paris Hilton to high class call girls. Barb’s stories set up her songs – which are all hits from Billboard and the Grammys.

Barb has always called Wheeling her home. And loves West Virginia! She’s still a down-home girl who loves to ride horses. Barb says, “It doesn’t matter how we start out in this world – what matters is what we do with it. And there’s still no place like home.
